Community Gatherings
Winter Program
An all-school event held to kick off the winter break, this annual tradition elevates winter traditions, celebrates the work of our music department, and includes highlights like the Senior reflection on Hanukkah and the kindergarten and first grade song presentation.
Convocation
Typically occurring three times a year, convocation helps us kick off milestones in our year and allows us to highlight a community member or outside speaker. These gatherings are often cross-divisional and are a part of our annual tradition, providing opportunities for student performances and the singing of the alma mater.
Divisional Assemblies
All students in the Lower, Middle, and Upper School meet with their division for bi-monthly assemblies. They are a crucial part of building a sense of community in each division. These assemblies provide leadership opportunities for students who often organize the gatherings, but can also serve as opportunities for performances, guest speakers, and community learning opportunities.
Speaker Series
Collegiate is grateful for the support provided through a variety of endowed funds that create opportunities to bring in speakers, writers, artists and distinguished guests to share their experience with our students. Examples of these funds include:
- The Henry Adams Lecture Series Fund
- The Robert Coles Fellowship in Service
- The Robby Steel Memorial Writing Workshop
- The Heather Reid Schaffzin Visiting Artist Fund
- The Deborah Kraus Pagano Lectures for Lower and Middle School
- William H. McLean ’27 Visiting Scholar Program in Mathematics and Science

Graduation and Moving Up
At the end of the school year, the Upper School, our full faculty, and senior families join together to celebrate our graduating seniors at Alice Tully Hall. Additionally, each division hosts a Moving Up Ceremony at School to celebrate our oldest students in our lower and middle schools.
