Collegiate Book Festival a Great Success

Collegiate’s three-day Book Festival, sponsored by the Parents Association, was again pleased to have many authors, readers young and old, and books of all kinds—fiction, biography, fantasy, history.

The opening Authors’ Night Reception, held on October 20, featured 15 Collegiate authors, all with works published in the last year, who were available to inscribe their books, discuss their ideas, and expand attendees’ horizons. Collegiate was proud to host the following authors: Richard Haass P’10; Alexander Ewing GP’15, ’18, ’22; Kenneth McClane ’69; Andrew Blauner ’82; Romesh Ratnesar; Zachary Karabell ’85, P’21; Paul Gleicher P’09, ’11 and Lisa Sharkey P’09, ’11; Mindy Greenstein P’19; Blythe Grossberg; Karen Wu Audi P’20; and Patricia Varano P’16, ’17. Unable to attend but also featuring their recent books were three additional authors: Ambassador John Loeb ’48; Charles Strouse P’84, ’87, ’96; and Jonathan Zimmerman ’79.

Each class of Lower and Middle Schoolers had a chance during the following two days to come, peruse, and purchase; Upper Schoolers could drop in any time they had a free period.

Congratulations on another very successful Book Festival and deep gratitude to all who made it happen; chairs for this event were Betsy Cohen P’20 and Helen Huang P’20, ’22.
