Apply to Grade 9

We are so delighted you are considering applying to Collegiate’s Grade 9 for your son. New students are admitted to grade 9 annually. Please see below the steps required for completing your application for admission. Applicants to grade 9 can begin the application process immediately. Personal recommendation letters are not required.

Application Checklist

Step 1 – Submit Your Application, Optional Photo, and Applicant’s Work Sample

Please submit your application, optional photo, and child’s work sample by November 14, 2025, and keep a copy for your files. We would very much appreciate an authentic piece of work by your child. It could be a self portrait, a poem, a writing sample, a school assignment that your child is proud of, or a photograph of your child in action pursuing his passions and interests. The work sample should be an image or text document. Please note that we are not able to accept videos, our file formatting will not support any videos.

Step 2 – Testing

Step 3 – School Report and Recommendations

School Report

Please request an official transcript from your child’s current school. In order to help us know the student, please provide our office with parent copies of the two previous years' report cards if they are not included in the transcript. The School Report must be received no later than January 5, 2026, in order for your application to be complete.

Two Recommendations

The school needs two current recommendations for your son, one from an English teacher and one from a math teacher by January 5, 2026 in order for your application to be complete.

Step 4 – Required Applicant Visit and Optional Parent and Grade 9 Applicant Tour

We encourage you to submit an application and schedule your required visits at your earliest convenience.

Applicant Visit: Applicants will meet one-on-one with our incredible teachers for a conversation. This will be a great opportunity to learn more about our teaching program and unique aspects of our Upper School.

Please note: We encourage you to submit an application at your earliest convenience. While applications will be accepted until the November 14 deadline, the required appointment for in-person applicant visits may be subject to an appointment waitlist after available slots have been filled.

Optional in-person Parent and Grade 9 Applicant Tours: Parents/guardians and grade 9 applicants who have submitted applications are invited to join us for an optional group tour. This is a facility tour conducted by parents and students that will provide you with an opportunity to see how a boy grows up in a K–12 school, under one roof. Please allow approximately one hour for your visit. Or you may enjoy a virtual tour here.

Please check on your application status to confirm that your requirements are complete. Only applicants with complete files will be considered for admission. We notify families of the admission decision in mid February.
