Collegiate competes in eight sports at the varsity level: cross-country, soccer, basketball, wrestling, baseball, track, lacrosse and tennis. Collegiate fields junior varsity teams in all of those sports, with the exception of lacrosse. Those who participate in interscholastic athletics take them seriously and practice after school and during vacations. Each year, Collegiate teams face demanding schedules with considerable success.
Almost anyone who wishes to participate in a team sport is able to do so. Coaches emphasize instruction in fundamental skills and sportsmanship and stress the value of the team experience. Collegiate provides students with the opportunity to challenge themselves and to develop their talents on the playing fields as well as in the classroom. In recent years optional intramural athletics have included volleyball, floor hockey and basketball.
