Cultural Exchange Trips and Travel Opportunities for Upper School Students (2007-2008)
We are very pleased to present to the Collegiate community the following international exchange and travel opportunities. These exciting trips complement our commitment to the humanities, to foreign language study, and to an education that is truly global. These programs sustain Collegiate’s longstanding tradition of foreign travel.
Paris, France
This exchange is with the Ecole Active Bilingue Jeannine Manuel in Paris. A group of sophomores will attend classes at the school, stay with families, and explore Paris during the spring vacation. The French students will come to New York from April 19th until May 4th.
Approximate cost (including airfare): $2,000
Cuernavaca, Mexico
For the eighth time, Collegiate offers a two-week language immersion program in Cuernavaca, Mexico during the spring vacation. The program is open to freshmen and sophomores. Mr. Gabriel Bahena, Spanish teacher and a native of Cuernavaca, will lead the program. The students will live with selected Mexican families and attend daily classes in a Mexican language center. In addition, there will be excursions to cultural sites and other fun activities. The students will also participate in some type of community service work.

We are especially interested in knowing about Collegiate families willing to host visiting students. Except where noted, the travel dates for all the trips are April 22nd- April 6th, 2007.
