The Community Service Program is a required activity. Every student in the Upper School must spend a certain amount of time doing work of his own choosing that is of service to the School or the broader community. Some students volunteer to help in Lower School classrooms. Other students work in the library or administrative offices, or science or computer labs. Some students work at The Museum of Natural History, The East Harlem School at Exodus House, The Children's Storefront, New York Hospital, The Red Cross or at neighborhood churches and schools.
