Junior Year - PSAT/NMSQT Results and initial interview
In late December or early January the college counselor gives each junior his results on PSAT/NMSQT examination in the form of an individual 20-minute overview of the boy’s high school career to date, which may be considered as the informal start of the college guidance process.

Junior Year - Take SAT I and SAT II
Each junior must sit for the SAT I in either March or May and take a sampling of SAT II tests in the slots remaining during these months. Upon receipt of his SAT I score, each junior is to schedule a 45-minute session with the college counselor to be followed on a subsequent date by a 90-minute family conference, which will include both of his parents if possible.

Junior Year - College Fair
On the first Tuesday in May a college fair for juniors from Collegiate, Dalton, Spence, and Trinity is scheduled. Over 100 colleges will be present to disseminate pertinent information about their respective institutions.

Junior/Senior Year - College Visitation
College visitation: Collegiate believes that students are best served by visiting colleges while they are in session, beginning with late August or early September of the senior year. Those who are seriously considering submitting an Early Decision application on November 1 or 15 should visit a minimum of 5 colleges, including an overnight stay in each, before possibly committing to one.

Senior Year - Regular Decision Candidates
Regular decision candidates should start working on their college applications no later than Thanksgiving break.
