Collegiate admits new students in Kindergarten, Fifth Grade, Sixth Grade, Seventh Grade, and Ninth Grade every year. When openings in enrollment occur in other Lower, Middle, and Upper School grades, they become opportunities for new applicants. Students of educational promise and sound character who would be able to contribute positively to the life of the school are encouraged to apply.

Collegiate does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, national and ethnic origin, sexual orientation, disability, or other legally protected class. A generous financial aid program enables the school to welcome students from families with various financial resources.

Tours and Interviews
Tours are scheduled to accommodate all interested families from September through February. For families seeking admission to Lower School (Kindergarten through Fourth Grade) or Middle School (Fifth through Eighth Grade), group tours for parents may be scheduled in advance of an applicant's visit. After a completed application is on file, the Admissions Office will schedule admission interviews and applicant visits for grades open to new enrollment. Families are advised to call the Admissions Office to schedule a tour of the school.

Announcements of Decisions
As a charter member of the Independent Schools Admissions Association of Greater New York (ISAAGNY), Collegiate subscribes to the association's school notification and parent reply dates. Decisions for openings are usually completed during the weeks following January 15th.

Siblings and Alumni Children
All applicants are evaluated according to the same criteria of individual qualifications and the effort to constitute an interesting, dynamic class.  Sibling and alumni applicants for kindergarten who wish to be considered for admission according to ISAAGNY "early legacy notification" must schedule admissions testing and a school appointment by November 15th.
